A Summary to My Blog
Part 1:  Blog:
a) How many final posts did you end up with? How many total comments? Did you find that you got more comments or views when you posted on certain days? What was the post that got the most views? Why do you think that is?
Up until now, I have posted a total of 6 posts, with 3 comments total. In total, my blog has been viewed 157 times, with 11 followers. The post with the most views and comments was my post on Marketing Myself and My Brand. This is probably because of a combination of multiple aspects, including the timing of the post and its contents. With examples, my point was delivered easily, and the timing of the post got the most amount of people to see it.
Lastly, do you think that you will keep up a blog after the end of class (for personal or for work)? Why or why not? How might you use the blogging strategy in the future?
I do think I will keep a personal blog after this. However, it wouldn't be for marketing myself, but instead, simply be a place for me to express my thoughts and opinions as an outlet of sorts.
Part 2: Facebook: What did you learn about FB? How have your perceptions about FB changed from the first day of class? How effective do you think this tool is? How might you use it in the future? Analytics: How many friends do you have? How many brands and or groups do you follow?
I have learned that though I have used Facebook mostly as a ways to communicate and stay connected with my friends, it can be used for many other things, namely to build a brand for myself. Also, I have found that I did not know as much about Facebook as I thought I did. Facebook is one of the most effective places for ads and is also a great way for companies to interact with satisfied and dissatisfied consumers. On my personal Facebook, I have around 650 friends and follow around 20 brands and groups. I think in the future, I will start catering my Facebook to represent who I am, so that when future employers look me up, they see a good image.
Part 3: Twitter: What have you learned about Twitter? Will you continue to use Twitter regularly? Who do you follow and why? (Name at least 3). What are your perceived strengths and weaknesses of Twitter?
I have learned that Twitter is a quick and easy place to communicate with your audience. It's interface allows you to quickly see and click links that articles you find interesting. However, I will probably not continue to use Twitter as I am not used to this app. I am more familiar with Facebook, which will be my main mode of social media. On Twitter, I follow Elon Musk because he is one of the leading men in technology right now and will continue to advance our society, so I follow him in order to stay up-to-date with him and what he is doing. I also follow Donald Trump because although I do not agree with his policies, he is still the President of the United States. Lastly, I follow the New York Times because is one of the news outlets that I trust. Twitter is easy to navigate and boost your posts through hashtags and even has a page for trending hashtags, making it easier for people to see your post through your hashtag. However, the one downfall is that each tweet has a limit in characters. Before, the limit was 140 characters, which has since been raised, but is still more limiting than other social media platforms.
Part 4 LinkedIn: Were you already using Linked In before the class? If so, what have you learned about it that you didn’t already know or how has your perception of it changed? How can you use this tool to leverage and build your personal brand? Which groups do you now belong to? Why did you choose these? Will you continue to follow these after the class?
I never used LinkedIn before this class, but I had heard of it before. I simply didn't think I needed one yet, as I am still not in the stage of my life where I am actively seeking jobs. Now that I have a LinkedIn account, I have realized that I should have made one earlier so that I could be more familiar with its interface. However, in its entirety, it seems like a more professional Facebook, where you can connect with people you know in order to make business connections rather than casual ones. LinkedIn is a great tool, as it allows you to use your connections to vouch for you and your abilities. I think I will definitely continue to use and grow my LinkedIn profile after this class.
